Former 19 Entertainment exec heads to HanWay in move to bolster the company’s film-financing operations.

HanWay Films has appointed former 19 Entertainment executive David Stead as finance director.

Stead was most recently svp financial planning and analysis at Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment where he oversaw projects involving David and Victoria Beckham, Andy Murray, Claudia Schiffer and Roland Mouret and shows American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance.

According to a company statement Stead’s “principal focus will be to help manage HanWay’s development into a finance-focused sales business capable of green-lighting production”.

Prior to 19 Entertainment Stead led the finance at Robert Dodds’ creative agency Freedom Media.

Stead commented: “I’m very thrilled to be joining a company with such a solid reputation in the industry. I’m excited at helping HanWay through its next phase of growth and looking forward to working with Jeremy Thomas, Peter Watson, Thorsten Schumacher and their team.”
