Industry newsletter Digital Media Wire will launch the Future Of Film Conference on March 21 at the Writers' Guild of America's Theater in Beverly Hills.

The one-day forum will bring together leaders in content creation, distribution and digital technologies to debate how critical changes in film are transforming the business.

Among the topics on the agenda will be: release windows, optical disc life expectancy; content piracy; multi-platform distribution; the democratisation of digital film-making; and film marketing in the internet age.

Confirmed speakers include: director Jason Kohn, whose stirring Brazil-US documentary Manda Bala won the Sundance Grand Jury Prize last month; executive vice president of Disney's corporate strategy, business development and technology group Kevin Mayer; Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarondos; and Paramount's worldwide business development chief Derek Broes.

'As publishers of one of the first digital newsletters about the convergence of media, entertainment and technology, we are consistently in touch with the latest news and trends in this exciting space,' Ned Sherman, chief executive officer and publisher of Digital Media Wire said.

'We couldn't help but notice the recent snowballing of events in the feature film world, and it is these hot-button issues that will fuel this new conference.'
