Cologne-based sales agent The Match Factory signed deals for Athina Rachel Tsangari’s Attenberg to Benelux and Austria ahead of the awarding of the Best Actress Coppa Volpi to Ariane Lebed in Venice on Saturday evening.

The tale of a father and daughter’s rites of passage has been sold to the EYE Film Institute for the Benelux and Stadtkino Wien for Austria. The film will have its North American premiere in Toronto on Tuesday.

Further territories are under negotiation for Attenberg as well as for another of The Match Factory’s Venice titles, The Majority by Turkish director Seren Yüce, which picked up the Luigi de Laurentis Award for Best First Film on the Lido.

The Majority will have its North American premiere in Toronto today.
