The Glasgow based company has acquired UK distribution rights to the restored version of Boudu Saved From Drowning.

Park Circus Films has acquired UK distribution rights for the restored version of Jean Renoir’s 1932 classic Boudu Saved From Drowning, from Pathe International.

The film, about a Parisian bookseller who befriends a tramp after saving him from drowning in the River Seine, stars Michel Simon and Marcelle Hainia. It screened in the Cannes classic section of this year’s Cannes film festival.

The restoration work was carried out at the Immagine Ritrovata laboratories in Bologna and at Digimage, Paris.

Park Circus, who have picked up UK theatrical, home video and video on demand rights, will release the film in limited cinemas across the UK at the end of 2010/early 2011.
