In two key promotions forWarner Bros Pictures International (WBPI), Monique Esclavissat has been namedexecutive vice president of European distribution and Con Gornell has beennamed executive vice president of European marketing.

Both senior executives moveup from their previous posts as senior vice presidents in their respectivedivisions.

Esclavissat is responsible for regional supervision of the company's distributionactivities in Europe, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She directlysupervises the staff of the European regional office in London, as well as thelocal affiliate and licensee enterprises.

Gornell will continue to oversee and manage the day-to-day marketing operations inEurope, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He supervises all aspectsof a diverse number of projects, all regional marketing activities and aLondon-based staff.

"The European marketplacehas grown tremendously in recent years, and on many of our major releases, evenexceeds the domestic take," WBPI's distribution chief Veronika Kwan-Rubineksaid.

"Monique has done anexceptional job of staying ahead of the curve in managing our line-up andrelationships in this increasingly competitive and challenging environment."

"His leadership has played avital part in our continued growth and success in meeting the challenges ofthis increasingly cluttered environment."

Esclavissat joined WBPI in1998. Prior to this she worked in London as vice president of internationalsales and distribution for Castle Rock International, among others.

Gornell joined the companyin 1997. He previously assumed charge of the Warner Bros Pictures account atGrey London for five years, where he served as media director.
