The Montreal based festival will close with the Canadian premiere of Eli Craig’s Tucker And Dale Vs Evil.

The 14th Fantasia International Film Festival will launch on July 8 with an advance screening of John Turtletaub’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, followed by a Q+A session with co-star Jay Baruchel.

Based in Montreal, the festival will also host seven world premieres; Jon Knautz’s The Shrine, the remake of the classic horror film I Spit on Your Grave, HG Lewis: The Godfather Of Gore, Saving Grace, Neverlost, If A Tree Falls and Theorie De La Religion . A screening of the restored Metropolis will be made in a 3000-seat hall with a live orchestral accompaniment. The closing film will be the Canadian premiere of Eli Craig’s comedy Tucker And Dale Vs. Evil on 28th July.

This year’s edition will also have focus on confrontational Serbian cinema, which will include a director’s cut of Uros Stojanovic’s Tears for Sale.

Over fifty special guests will be in attendance, with lifetime achievement awards being presented to Ken Russell and the animation duo of Don Bluth and Gary Goldman.
