The Marrakech Film Festival, which runs December 2-10, will be bookended by Moroccan films The Rif Lover and Death For Sale.

Faouzi Bensaïdi’s Death For Sale, starring Fehd Benchemsi, Fouad Labiad, Mouchcine Malzi, Iman Mechrafi, Faouzi Bensaïdi, will close the festival, which runs from December 2-10.

Serbian director Emir Kusturica will head up the feature film jury, which will also be made up of Jessica Chastain, Asghar Farhadi, Nicole Garcia, Abdelkader Lagtâa, Brillante Ma. Mendoza, Radu Mihaileanu, Maya Sansa, Aparna Sen..

Sigourney Weaver has been named as the president of the short film jury, which also includes Farida Benlyazid, Marie Gillain, Pascal Greggory, Pierre Salvadori.

This year’s official selection will shine the light on local film-making with a Moroccan Cinema At Heart section featuring Hicham Lasri’s The End, Mohamed Nadif’s Andalusia, My Love, Leila Kilani’s On The Edge and Ahmed Boulane’s The Return Of The Sun.
