The Greek festival will focus on the Thai director’s work, which includes this year’s Cannes competition film Uncle Boonmee

The 51st Thessaloniki film festival will feature a retrospective of Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s work. The Thai director’s film Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives, is in competition at Cannes next month.

His credits also include Tropical Malady, which won the jury prize Cannes in 2004, and Blissfully Yours, which won the top prize of the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes in 2002.

This year’s festival will run from 19-28 November.
