Singapore production outfit Lighthouse Pictures has pre-sold Korean rights to Yasmin Ahmad’s upcoming Go,Thaddeus! to Seoul-based distributor and sales agent Film Messenger.

Produced by Thomas Chia, the film is based on a true story about the late Singaporean triathlete Thaddeus Cheong who died two years ago at the age of 17. The film is being developed at a time when Singapore is gearing up to host the inaugural Youth Olympics in 2010.

Currently in pre-production, the film is scheduled for release in Singapore, Malaysia and South Korea in August 2010. One of Malaysia’s leading filmmakers, Ahmad has credits such as Sepet and Mukhsin.
