North American distributor Film Movement has acquired domestic rights to Silvio Soldini's Italian drama Days And Clouds (Giorni E Nuvole).

The story charts a couple's near breakdown as they try to provide for their daughter. Following a job loss the couple split up and suddenly realize that what matters most is love and family stability.

Film Movement plans a nationwide theatrical release in early June. Days And Clouds played in official selection in Toronto, Rome and London in 2007.

Company president Adley Gartenstein and vice president of acquisitions and distribution Rebeca Conget negotiated the deal with Adriana Chiesa of Adriana Chiesa Enterprises.

'One of our aims at Film Movement is to follow the career of directors and talent that we like and respect, so it is a real honor to be able to add another beautiful film by Silvio Soldini to our collection,' Gartenstein said. 'Days And Clouds reaffirms Soldini's sensibility and talent for capturing the human spirit using both humour and heart.'
