FilmDistrict has picked up US rights to Dead Man Down starring Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace and has set an autumn 2013 release.
Niels Arden Oplev is directing from a screenplay by J H Wyman about a crime lord’s lieutenant who falls for a vengeful victim. Production got underway in Philadelphia and New York in April.
IM Global and WWE Studios jointly financed the $30m project and Neal Moritz produces through Original Films alongside Wyman of Frequency Films.
Ori Marmur, IM global chief Stuart Ford, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Deepak Nayar and FilmDistrict CEO Peter Schlessel will serve as executive producers.
