Sales companies line-up to present 3D features at the European Film Market’s dedicated venue.

Focus Features International, Fortissimo Films and Timeless Films are among the international sales companies presenting market premieres at the European Film Market’s new dedicated 3D venue.

Focus Features has booked two slots at the Astor Film Lounge for the Chinese 3D live-action film True Legend (Su Qi Er) (pictured) by Yuen Woo Ping on February 13 and 14. The screening comes ahead of its public presentation at the Zoo Palast cinema in the Berlinale Special sidebar on February 15.

Fortissimo Films will be showing the Japanese horror film The Shock Labyrinth: Extreme by Takashi Shimizu; while Timeless Films has lined up a market premiere of John Williams’ animation feature Space Chimps 2 - Zartog Strikes Back, with the voices of Stanley Tucci, Patrick Warburton and Cheryl Hines.

Timeless also has two screenings of the German 3D animation feature Animals United (Konferenz Der Tiere), directed by Reinhard Klooss and Holger Tappe from the original book by Erich Kästner, which will be released worldwide this autumn.

Additional market premieres confirmed include Vision Films’ action animation feature Boogie by Argentinian film-maker Gustavo Cova; and Dygra Films’ production of Juan Galinanes’ animated comedy Holy Night!, which is set to be the first Spanish digital 3D animation feature.

Moreover, Spain’s Filmax International will be presenting Jordi Llompart’s $13.8m (€10m) 3D live-action fantasy film Magic Journey To Africa, starring Eva Gerretsen, Raymond Mvula and Leonor Watling; and German production outfit Cornelsen Films will looking to seal deals on Raymond Boy’s action-thriller Killing Bee 3D.

German 3D experts parallax raumprojektion will also present the market premiere of Nikolai Vialkowitsch’s 3D documentary The Eye - Life And Science On Cerro Parani, about the world’s most powerful optic telescope at the European South Observatory in Chile’s Atacama Desert.
