Fortissimo Films has sold US rights for award-winning documentary Buddha's Lost Children to Zeitgeist Films for theatrical and Red Envelope Entertainment for DVD. Catherine Le Clef, newly appointed senior vice president, TV and ancillary, brokered the deal with both companies.

Directed by Mark Verkerk, Buddha's Lost Children has won multiple awards including the Grand Jury Award for International Documentary at the AFI Fest.
The film follows a Thai boxer turned Buddhist monk who travels through the borderlands of Thailand's Golden Triangle on horseback.

The film was produced by Pim Van Collem and Ton Okkerfe.

Le Clef comes to Fortissimo with a background in documentaries, including work at the Montreal-based Films Transit.

She arrives at a time when Fortissimo is highlighting more focus on documentary acquisitions. Their latest slate includes the untitled Martin Scorsese Rolling Stones documentary and Annie Leibovitz: Life Through a Lens.
