Dan Freedman has joinedMandate Pictures as vice president of business and legal affairs.

Freedman assumesresponsibility for negotiating rights and talent agreements in the developmentand production of features, overseeing production counsel, negotiating dealsfor Mandate's mobile content ventures, and handling key corporate matters.

He will report to RobMcEntegart, executive vice president of business affairs, and will work closelywith Kelli Konop, vice president of physical production, on business and legalaspects of the company's feature productions.

Freedman arrives from MGM,where he worked on Be Cool, Pink Panther, Beauty Shop, The AmityvilleHorror, Out Of Time, Legally Blonde2,and Agent Cody Banks, amongothers.

At MGM he managed all facetsof the studio's film development and production and handled in-house producerterm deals, as well as numerous off-balance-sheet co-financing arrangements.
