Goldcrest Independent has acquired international rights to Thelma Films and Cine Nomine's upcoming French romance Percussions starring real-life couple Sophie Marceau and Christophe Lambert.

Executive president of sales Pierre Weisbein will introduce the project to buyers at AFM following a seven-week shoot in the Colombia city of Cartagena.

Currently in post-production in Paris, Percussions tells of an alcoholic former boxing champion who awakens the passion inside a paralysed woman.

Weisbein said the film would showcase Marceau as 'an Academy worthy actress', adding: 'The chemistry she shares with real-life love Christophe Lambert lights up the screen.'

Alain Monne directed from his adaptation of Eric Holder's novel L'Homme De Chevet. Thelma Films' Christine Gozlan is producing with Pierre Forrette and Thierry Wong.

Goldcrest Independent's AFM slate includes Rob Schneider's latest comedy The Chosen One, the 1980s football hooligan film Cass and Amalia, a biopic of the Fado singing legend Amalia Rodrigues.
