Twilight Entertainment has signed a deal to make a live-action feature of Japanese animation Lupin The Third .with Japan's TMS Entertainment who created animation features and TV series of the story and Kazuhiko Kato the writer of the original comic book.
Hollywood producer, Gerald Molen (Schindler's List, Jurassic Park: The Lost World) will head the project.
Lupin The Third is an action comedy adventure about four legendary thieves who steal treasures from all over the world and are hunted by a committed detective.
Although Molen is reluctant to comment on the details, he aims to cast international actors as well as Hollywood stars to target the international market. Currently in pre-production, the film is scheduled to move into production by the end of the year and to be released within two years.
Lupin The Third was originally created as a comic book in 1967 and translated in many different languages. Over 100 countries around the world have acquired licenses to the comic book and the animated TV series.
