UK films also get strong recognition with multiple nominations for Steve McQueen's Hunger, Mike Leigh's Happy-Go-Lucky and Joe Wright's Atonement.
Andreas Dresen's Cloud 9 and Eran Riklis' Lemon Tree are both nominated in two categories.
The nominations for the 21st EFAs were announced at the Seville European Film Festival.
The 1,800EFA Members will now vote for the winners which will be presented during theAwards Ceremony on 6 December in Copenhagen.
