Chris Meledandri’s animation company has hired Brooke Breton as a senior production executive while Kit Giordano is named director of development.

Kristin Wong-Ward has been promoted to the creative executive role at the company, whose credits include Despicable Me and Hop. Illumination is at work on Dr Seuss’ The Lorax.

Breton is producing the Despicable Me theme park attraction for Illumination, scheduled to open in 2012 at Universal Studios Orlando. She served at Lightstorm Entertainment as co-producer on Avatar and prior to that co-produced Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow for Paramount.

Giordano most recently served as vp of Ben Stiller’s Red Hour Films and is an associate producer on the action-comedy 30 Minutes Or Less.

After a stint as Meledandri’s executive assistant, Ward is moving into a new position where her focus will span feature development through marketing.
