Koch Lorber Films has picked up Scott Hicks' documentary Glass: A Portrait Of Philip In Twelve Parts, which follows the legendary composer over the course of one eventful year and premiered in Toronto last year.

Koch Lorber holds US theatrical and home video rights and has set the US premiere for April at New York's IFC Center to coincide with the revival of Glass's opera Satyagraha at the Metropolitan Opera House.

Company president Richard Lorber negotiated the deal with The Film Sales Company's Andrew Herwitz on behalf of Mandalay Motion Pictures and Independent Media.

'Scott's unique perspective and talents as a documentarian are on full display in this highly engaging film,' Lorber said. 'Philip Glass is one of contemporary music's most innovative talents, and A Portrait of Philip In Twelve Parts delivers the enigmatic composer in a way we've never seen him before.'
