Nu Image/Millennium Films co-chairman and CEO Avi Lerner will receive the 2010 IFF Lifetime Achievement Award at the 25th Israel Film Festival in Los Angeles on October 20.

Lerner is renowned as a producer and his recent credits include The Expendables, Rambo, Trust and the upcoming Conan reboot. Along with his Nu Image partners Danny Dimbort and Trevor Short, Lerner owns and operates a full service production facility in Sofia, Bulgaria, and the company is building a $12m studio in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Lerner was born and raised in Israel where he launched a business managing Israel’s first drive-in cinemas. He acquired a chain of theaters and became a partner in the largest theatrical distribution company in the country before relocating to South Africa to establish Nu Metro Entertainment Group, eventually settling in Los Angeles where he set up Nu Image and later Millennium Films.

The Israel Film Festival will run from October 20–November 4.
