Santa Monica-based Lightning Entertainment has acquired international distribution rights to the comic book adaptation Trailer Park Of Terror heading into AFM this week.

The Bogner Entertainment title is based on the Imperium Comics series about a group of students and their chaperone who are stranded in the mountains and left to the mercy of a maniacal redneck and her posse of undead trailer park trash. Summit Entertainment has licensed domestic rights.

Nichole Hiltz stars alongside country music star Trace Adkins, Lew Temple and Duane Whitaker. Steven Goldmann directed from a script by Timothy Dolan and Jonathan Bogner produced.

Lightning senior vice president of acquisitions Joseph Dickstein brokered the deal with Bogner.

'Trailer Park Of Terror has a built-in fan base rooted in the comic franchise,' Lightning co-president Richard Guardian said. 'Time and time again, films from comic book pages prove that they will maintain a loyal following and illicit intrigue around the world.'

Lightning's AFM slate includes crime thriller La Linea starring Andy Garcia and Ray Liotta, Jada Pinket Smith's directorial debut The Human Contract starring Paz Vega, sports drama Forever Strong, thriller The Shortcut from Leomax Entertainment and Adam Sandler's Scary Madison Productions, and the Leomax thriller Grace.
