Glenn Close, Steve Buscemi, Focus Features co-president DavidLinde and producer Ed Pressman are to receive the IFP Gotham Awards at the 13thannual IFP annual Gotham Awards Gala on Sept 22.

The honours recognise people who have made significant contributionsto the New York film-making community, and for the first time this year willnot be presented in specific categories but awarded to individuals based ontheir entire bodies of work.

"All four of this year's IFP Gotham Awards recipients are familiarfaces at the event - attendingregularly," Michelle Byrd, executive director of IFP/New York, said in astatement.

"Each of this year's honorees has contributed to the vitality anddiversity of the New York film-making industry."

Close, who has received five Academy Award nominations, is beinghonoured for her prolific and versatile career in film, theatre and television,while Buscemi's award recognises his work as an actor, writer and a director inthe independent sphere.

Linde gets the nod for his proven track record with independentproduction companies and more recently the establishment of Focus, which hasenjoyed a successful first year with hits including Far From Heaven and The Pianist.

Pressman has worked withBrian De Palma, Terrence Malick and Oliver Stone, among others, and set upproduction and distribution outfit ContentFilm with partner John Schmidt.
