Marni Wieshofer has joined Media Rights Capital as senior vice president, corporate development and mergers and acquisitions.
Since 2002 Wieshofer has served as executive vice president of corporate development at Lionsgate and orchestrated acquisitions and facilitated the integration of Mandate Pictures, Redbus Films Distribution UK, Trimark Pictures and Artisan Entertainment, among others. She served as Lionsgate's chief financial officer from April 1999 to September 2002.
MRC's 2008 projects include Robert Rodriguez' family film Shorts, which Warner Bros will release worldwide, as well as Ricky Gervais' comedy This Side Of The Truth and Richard Kelly's thriller The Box, both of which will be released in North America through Warner Bros.
The Weinstein Company is handling international sales on The Box and MRC is poised to appoint a foreign sales agent for This Side Of The Truth.
The slate includes Sacha Baron Cohen's mockumentary Bruno, which Universal has for North America, and a Todd Field project.
