Korea’s M-Line Distribution has sold its high-concept sci-fi drama Doomsday Book to Well Go USA for North America and Splendid for Benelux and Germany.

The three-part film, co-directed by Kim Jee-woon (I Saw The Devil) and Yim Pil-sung (Antartic Journal), tells three stories of human self-destruction in the high-tech era. M-Line also pre-sold the film to Turkey’s BIR.

In addition, M-Line has sold action thriller Howling to Japan’s BMS and Rainbow Media for Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei. Based on the famous Japanese novel The Hunter by Nonami Asa, the film is directed by Yoo Ha (A Dirty Carnival) and stars Song Kang-ho (Thirst, The Host).

M-Line has also sold My Secret Partner to Hong Kong’s Sundream and Japan’s E-motion and romantic comedy Two Weddings And A Funeral to Vietnam’s Velo Media, one of the first times that a gay-themed movie has been sold to Vietnam. Two Weddings And A Funeral will be released in Korea in June.

M-Line’s slate also includes romantic comedy All About My Wife, directed by Min Kyu-dong (Mememto Mori), which opens in Korea today (May 17), and mystery melodrama Gabi, about a coffee-loving king who is poisoned by his favourite brew.
