The Match Factory has announced an international rights deal with Third Films for Duane Hopkins’ upcoming feature Bypass.

The English director, artist and photographer, whose installation short Cigarette at night will be screening at the Director’s Fortnight, is a regular Cannes attendee.

Hopkins’ Field (2001) and debut feature Better Things (2008) were both screened as part of International Critics Week and went on to play over 100 festivals, win 15 awards and make sales all over the world.

Independent production company Third Films, is known for supporting director driven independent films. Samm Haillay, co-founder and producer with Third Films, is currently financing Bypass, which will also relate to a new series installation works by Duane Hopkins. The international rights deal with The Match Factory is an integral part to the project financing.
