Former Total Film and Premiere editor will succeed Wendy Mitchell.
Matt Mueller has been appointed as the new editor of Screen International and ScreenDaily.com.
Mueller was formerly editor of Total Film for six years and the UK edition of Premiere magazine for three years.
He has most recently worked as a freelance writer for brands including The Sunday Times, The Independent, Entertainment Weekly and Indiewire and has worked as an editor for Film3Sixty and Attitude magazine.
Mueller, who has covered film in an editorial role for 22 years, will succeed former editor Wendy Mitchell, who has joined the British Council but also continues to write for Screen.
Mueller said: “I am thrilled to be joining Screen International as its new editor. I have big shoes to fill in taking over from Wendy Mitchell and I look forward to working with the very talented team and the film industry in driving Screen International to its next stage of development.”
Conor Dignam, chief executive of Screen’s publisher MBI added: “I am delighted to have a journalist of Matt’s calibre taking the editor’s seat at Screen International. Matt has fantastic industry knowledge and a strong vision of what he wants to achieve with Screen across all our platforms. Everyone on the team is looking forward to working with him in his new role”.
