Momentum Pictures has acquired all UK and Irish rights to The Crew, a thriller based on the novel Outlaws by Kevin Sampson.

The Crew stars Scot Williams (Backbeat, The Tulse Luper Suitcases), Kenny Doughty (Elizabeth, Crush) Rory McCann (Alexander, Hot Fuzz) and Stephen Graham (This is England and Michael Mann's forthcoming Public Enemies).

It is directed by Adrian Vitoria (Capital Punishment) from a script by Ian Brady and Adrian Vitoria. Brady and Stephen Salter produced for production companies Syndicate Films and Foundation Films.

The thriller, which is due to be released in January, is based on the novel Outlaws by Kevin Sampson and explores the violent and hedonistic Liverpool underworld. It will preview at the Dinard Film Festival 2008, which starts tomorrow (Oct 2) and runs until Oct 5.

Momentum Pictures recently acquired UK and Irish rights to Tomas Alfredson's Swedish vampire romance Let The Right One In.
