Sony/Revolution's drama Mona Lisa Smile opened number one in the UK at the weekend through ColumbiaTriStar Film Distributors International (CTFDI), grossing $2.3m on 414 screens.

Overall the picture took $3m toraise its industry-wide running total to $64.7m.

In other runningtotals, the horror picture Gothika added $4.9m for $37.5m, drama Big Fish added $3.6m for $30.7m, the live-actionversion of Peter Pangrossed $700,000 for $46.9m and drama The Missing added $1.2m for $8.2m.
