The Angel Monaco International Film Festival has handed the Angel Award for best family adverture screenplay to Stormdancer, which was recently acquired by UK-based production company Pivotal Pictures.

The screenplay, written by John A. Lage and Katherine Huston , tells the story of a young disabled girl who attempts to rescue a horse who she has formed a bond with from the circus. It is being produced by Carolynne Wyper, Liz Trubridge and Richard Price of Pivotal Pictures, along with Lage and US producer Gary Hudson.

The Angel Awards, now in its 7th year, focuses on non violent film and family entertainment. For a full line-up of winners please visit the festival’s website.
