The first eventscheduled thus far in the 2006 awards season calendar will take place when the National Board of Review names its winners on Dec 6.
Members will screen close to 300 pictures for awards consideration in 2006. Theannual awards gala will take place at Cipriani in New York City onJan 9, 2007.
The organistion, which comprises film aficionados and an elite core ofeducators, book editors and other professionals, was founded nearly 100 yearsago in 1909.
