Spanish sales house Sogepaq has closed a deal with NewYorker Films for US distribution of award-winning local drama Take My Eyes.

New Yorker is expected to premiere the film in 2005. The USwas the last of the major territories to sell excluding Germany, which Sogepaqsays it is near to closing.

Take My Eyes (Te Doy Mis Ojos) is a heart-wrenching tale of a young woman's struggle to breakthe bonds with her abusive husband and forge a life and identity of her own.

Iciar Bollain directed the film and co-wrote the script withAlicia Luna. Alta Films and Producciones La Iguana co-produced.

Impressively for an arthouse title, Eyes is the third top-grossing local film this year inSpain. It swept the local Goya Awards and picked up best actress and actor prizesat last year's San Sebastian Festival for stars Laia Marull and LuisTosar.
