EXCLUSIVE: MetFilm Distribution has acquired UK-Ireland distribution rights to Orban Wallace’s access movement documentary Our Land.
MetFilm is scheduling a wide UK-Ireland cinema release for spring 2026, with particular focus on regions with strong engagement on the topic of land access.
Our Land looks at the debate over land access, land ownership, and to whom nature belongs. It features landowners and prominent land authors, including Nick Hayes and Guy Shrubsole; as well as voices from the politically active Right to Roam movement.
The film debuted at Sheffield DocFest earlier this year, and will have its international premiere at DOC NYC later this month.
Backed by the BFI Doc Society Fund, it is produced by Rebecca Wolff, Charlie Phillips, Leo Smith, and Wallace, for Gallivant Film, Grasp the Nettle Films and I Am Charlie Ltd, and made in association with Intermission Film.
Executive producers are Sandra Whipham for the BFI Doc Society Fund, Dale Vince, and Sam Cryer, with Alice Aedy and Joi Lee of climate-focused studio Earthrise as co-executive producers.
It joins a MetFilm slate that includes Lindsay Utz and Michelle Walshe’s Prime Minister, which won the audience award in World Cinema – Documentary at Sundance; Samuel Abrahams’ Lady starring Sian Clifford; and Silvio Soldini’s The Tasters.
“Our Land is about starting a conversation — crossing divides to explore our shared sense of belonging and to reimagine our future relationship with the land and nature of the UK,” said Wallace.
