Ben Sharrock’s ‘Alone Together’ starring Callum Turner, Adria Arjona and Amir El-Masry picked up for UK-Ireland

EXCLUSIVE: Curzon has acquired UK-Ireland rights to Ben Sharrock’s third feature Alone Together, starring Callum Turner, Adria Arjona and Amir El-Masry, from the UK’s HanWay Films.

UK writer-director Sharrock’s follow-up to Limbo follows a British filmmaker, played by Turner, facing a life crisis as he visits the Arabian desert for a job.

His career is stalling, he’s on the brink of a divorce, and he’s feeling guilty about being an absent father to his young son. During a freak rainstorm he has a fleeting and powerful connection with a stranger (Arjona) and also develops a bond with a charismatic local guide, played by El-Masry, who previously starred in Limbo.

Oscar and Bafta-winning The Father and The Son filmmaker Florian Zeller and Federica Sainte-Rose’s France-US Blue Morning Pictures produces.

The film will be shot in Oman and Jordan in the autumn.

“We were deeply impressed by Ben’s script for Alone Together, which is at turns funny, insightful and soul searching,” said Louisa Dent, Curzon Film managing director, who negotiated the deal with HanWay’s head of sales Nicole Mackey. “We can’t wait to see how it comes together with this incredible cast.”

Mackey added: “As a film student Ben Sharrock loved to dive into Curzon films - both classics and new. He could not be happier. They are the perfect partner for this film.”
