‘Apnas’

EXCLUSIVE: Munro Film has acquired UK-Ireland theatrical distribution rights to British Pakistani crime drama Apnas.

The distributor is scheduling a cinema release for March 2026.

Apnas, which means ‘our own’ in Punjabi, follows a British Pakistani from Manchester who is pulled into the criminal underworld by his notorious uncle.

The film is co-directed by Ashley Chin and Darren R.L. Gordon, written by Adrian Scott, and produced by Fiaz Ashraf of Manchester’s AFA Productions, with Madfabulous producer Nadia Jaynes.

James Greaney and Asim Ashraf lead the cast as rival cousins, alongside Nitin Ganatra, Ash Tandon and Mollie Winnard.

“This is a story that’s never been told, that hasn’t been tapped into and shown on the big screen,” said Chin.

“With such a strong cultural and regional focus, and growing film community demonstrated by over 130,000 subscribers on the film’s YouTube channel alone, we are more than hopeful that Apnas has the potential to break out,” said Frank Smith, Munro Film managing director.
