WWII code-breaking drama underway in UK; FilmNation handles sales.

Principal photography has begun on Second World War code-breaking drama The Imitation Game.

Benedict Cumberbatch, Keira Knightley, Matthew Goode, Mark Strong, Rory Kinnear and Charles Dance are among the cast of the drama, which follows the life and work of Alan Turing, the mathematician credited with cracking the German Enigma code.

Headhunters director Morten Tyldum makes his English-language debut on Graham Moore’s script, based on the book Alan Turing: The Enigma by Andrew Hodges. 

Black Bear Pictures’ Teddy Schwarzman is producing alongside Nora Grossman and Ido Ostrowsky, with Moore as executive producer and Peter Heslop as co-producer.

Behind-the camera talent includes director of photography Oscar Faura editor William Goldenberg, production designer Maria Djurkovic, hair and make-up designer Ivana Primorac, casting director Nina Gold and composer Clint Mansell.

FilmNation Entertainment is handling international sales, with CAA representing US domestic. StudioCanal has all rights in the UK.
