PMK Entertainment has brought on veteran communications executive and longtime agency owner Erik Bright as EVP, content and strategic communications.

Los Angeles-Bright, who for the last 16 years has served as president and CEO of boutique agency Prodigy PR, will oversee PMK’s bicoastal content publicity team that works on film and TV campaigns. Bright will assume a key leadership role in PMK’s global strategic communications business.

The highly-regarded executive will segue his Prodigy PR content and corporate business portfolio into PMK Entertainment, and reports to PMK’s president of strategic communications, Dennis Dembia.

Bright started out more than 25 years ago at Eddie Michaels & Associates where he supported campaigns for talent such as Noah Wyle and Anjelica Huston. Prior to founding Prodigy PR, which he built into a full-service PR and marketing firm for studios, independents, festivals, and creators, he served as a partner and vice president at Insignia PR and Media Strategies servicing corporate and film clients.

He is a regular face on the international festival and market circuit and has worked on campaigns for Hamnet, The Holdovers, Promising Young Woman, Margin Call, Little Miss Sunshine, The Raid, and California Schemin’, among many others.

PMK Entertainment CEO Cindi Berger said, “Erik brings an exceptional combination of creative vision, deep industry relationships, and strategic communications expertise to PMK.” PMK president Alan Nierob said, “Erik strengthens both sides of our business, bringing proven campaign expertise to our bicoastal content team and real strategic depth to our strategic communications practice lead by Dennis Dembia.”

Dembia said, “I’ve known Erik for many years and respect his resolute commitment to delivering for clients and the deep industry relationships he’s forged […] His leadership will be vital as we focus on unlocking new opportunities for our clients across the entertainment, media and sports ecosystem.”

“Joining Cindi, Alan, Dennis and the team at PMK Entertainment is an honour,” said Bright. “I’ve long admired what they’ve built. It’s one of the most respected names in entertainment communications, with a legacy few agencies can match. Building Prodigy over the past 16 years has been the privilege of my career, and I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve done for our clients and filmmakers. PMK offers the scale and resources to take that work even further, and I look forward to bringing my experience to a team that shares my commitment to smart, results-driven communications.”
