The initiative aims to prove that Italian cinema has commercial appeal with the Spanish public.

Italian distribution company Intramovies and Madrid based distributor Sherlock Films have signed a deal which will see 8-10 Italian films being screened across cinemas in Spain.

The films will be released with a minimum run of two weeks in Madrid, Barcelona, Santander and Seville, with additional cities under consideration.

Sergio Rubini’s Colpo D’Occhio has already opened on November 10. The next film to open in Spain will be Massimo Natale’s L’Estate Di Martino (December 2), Marco Chiarini’s L’Uomo Flammifero (December 22) and Gianfrancesco Lazotti’s Dalla Vita In Poi (January 13).

The initiative, backed by the Italian Institute for Culture Madrid, aims to show that Italian cinema has a commercial appeal in Spain.
