Ffilm Cymru Wales, the UK development agency for Welsh film, is launching a skills programme for 10 emerging producers backed by ScreenSkills and the Arts Council of Wales.
The programme will provide bespoke training, coaching and networking opportunities over the course of a week in Cardiff from October 26. It is open to producers in Wales who have some experience in screen, but who have not yet led on more than one feature film that has been released on a commercial basis. Ffilm Cymru said it is particularly keen to hear from producers whose lived experience is currently underrepresented in the screen sector.
Ffilm Cymru’s Future Producers will run at the same time as the Eave (European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs) Producers Workshop, which is coming to Cardiff for the first time in 18 years, and will give Ffilm Cymru’s Future Producers the chance to network with Eave’s 56 emerging producers from around the world.
The Future Producers’ course content includes early creative development, packaging, pitching and finance skills, legal fundamentals and deal negotiation, environmental sustainability, inclusive ways of working and business plan development.
Deadline for applications is August 21.
