FilmSharks has boarded the vampire comedy Felix: A Complex Puzzle to be directed by Demián Rugna, whose most recent film When Evil Lurks premiered in 2023 TIFF Midnight Madness.
Felix is in development and involves a hapless hypochondriac night tour guide who becomes mixed up in bizarre events involving Omin, a hard-partying vampire playboy.
When the latter falls from a yacht during a bender and is declared dead, doctors mistakenly harvest his organs. Omin rallies vampire bounty hunters from around the world to track down his missing parts.
FilmSharks CEO Guido Rud, who is shepherding the project, serves as producer, and is pulling together the financing, said Felix incorporates road trip elements and tackles the theme of masculinity.
Argentinian Rugna said: “Felix is a super fun spooky comedy in the vampire world that plays a lot with horror and dark comedy.” His credits include When Evil Lurks, Satanic Hispanics, and Terrified.
