EXCLUSIVE: Italy’s Vision Distribution has sold three key titles to distributor Busch Media Group for German-speaking territories.
The three titles include Gioia by Nicolangelo Gelormini, which world premiered in Venice’s Giornate degli Autori sidebar, and recently won prizes for best director and best actor for Saul Nanni at Mar de Plata. Gioia centres on a student and teacher romance that turns dark.
Also picked up by Busch are erotic drama The Eyes Of Others by Andrea De Sica, which won the best actress award at the Rome Film Festival for Jasmine Trinca, and comedy Love in Separate Beds by Massimiliano Bruno, winner of the audience award at Rome Film Festival sidebar Alice nella Città.
The films will be released by Busch Media Group in the first half of 2026.
The deal follows the successful release this year of Silvio Soldini’s The Tasters, which is also sold by Vision, in German-speaking territories through Busch with over 40,000 admissions.
Alessandro Caccamo, head of international sales at Vision said the agreement fits into a broader strategy at Vision “to identify motivated and passionate partners with whom to work on multiple titles from our catalogue in key countries.”
Similar deals have already been closed by Vision Distribution in several other countries, such as in France with Destiny Film for Diamanti and The Tasters, in Spain with A Contracorriente (A World Apart, Diamanti, and Love in Separate Beds), in Japan with Child films (Diamanti and Three Goodbyes), and in the Baltic countries with Bestfilm.eu (Diamanti, The Eyes of Others, Love In Separate Beds and Three Goodbyes)
Simon Busch, president of Busch Media Group, said: ”In the last two years we have put a strong focus on the distribution of Italian feature films in German-speaking territories…This year we had a great success with Silvio Soldini’s The Tasters, which has performed very well in German and Austrian theatres. We want to build on this achievement with at least three new feature films, to be released in the first half of 2026.”
Vision Distribution is majority-owned by Sky Italia-owner Comcast.
