Los Angeles prosecutors will not pursue a sexual assault case against disgraced actor Kevin Spacey because the allegation is time-barred within the state of California.
Spacey, 59, was alleged to have sexually assaulted a man in West Hollywood in October 1992.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney also said on Tuesday (September 4) it was dropping cases against the actors Steven Seagal and Anthony Anderson.
A claim by a woman against Seagal stemming back to 1993 was also time-barred, while the case against Anderson was deemed to lack sufficient evidence after his accuser declined to be interviewed by the authorities.
However a second case involving Spacey and one against Seagal remain under review.
Meanwhile the actor Robin Wright said she believed in second chances when asked about her former House Of Cards co-star..
“I believe every human being has the ability to reform,” Wright told Porter magazine. “In that sense, second chances, or whatever you are going to call it – absolutely, I believe in that. It’s called growth.”
