Lily James and Raffey Cassidy will lead the cast of Spencer Harvey and Lloyd Harvey’s US-UK emotional thriller Photo Booth, which will shoot in Australia and London this October.
HanWay Films will launch international sales on the package at this month’s Cannes market, with UTA Independent Film Group handling North America.
James will play Jean Bouchet, a world-renowned performance artist who is struggling to have a child with her husband. When his drunken one-night stand with a rootless young woman (Cassidy) leads to the young woman becoming pregnant, Bouchet invites the woman into their home, with ensuing emotional chaos.
Spencer and Lloyd Harvey are sibling writer-directors and fine art photographers, whose screenplay for Photo Booth won the Academy Nicholl Fellowship from the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences.
Cathy Konrad will produce for her Tree Line Films, with James and Gala Gordon for their Parodos Productions, partnering with Sarah Shaw and Anna McLish for Carver Films.
“Photo Booth is… deeply rooted in the discussion of legacy and the choices that define us,” said a statement from the Harvey siblings.
“Within 10 minutes of sitting down with the script for Photo Booth - my mind was already turning - I wanted to be on the set filming this, and help in any way to get this project off the ground,” said Konrad, while HanWay Films CEO Gabrielle Stewart described it as “a total page turner where intimate relationships are laid bare with razor-sharp dialogue.”
Konrad’s producer credits include James Mangold’s Oscar-winning Walk The Line, 3:10 to Yuma, and Knight And Day.
