A memorial will be held in Santa Monica for former MGM and Fox international executive Francisco ‘Paco’ Rodriguez Sr, who died on August 18.

Rodriguez Sr worked in the international division of MGM and served in a similar capacity for Fox in Los Angeles, Mexico City, Spain and Italy. He retired from Fox in 1992.

He was born in Kobe, Japan, on January 14, 1923. Except for the two years he spent in school in Spain, Japan was his home for 41 years. He was married to his wife Ingrid, who passed away in 2001, for more than 56 years.

Friends have paid tribute to Rodriguez Sr’s unique ability and personality, noting his ability to make friends wherever he went and his fluency in English, Spanish, Japanese and Italian.

He is survived by his three daughters Rosa, Liliana and Isabel, his son Francisco Rodriguez Jr, and nine grandchildren.

The memorial service will take place on August 28 at 1pm at Gates, Kingsley & Gates in Santa Monica.
