Tony Gilroy’s Behemoth! starring Pedro Pascal will receive its world premiere as the Centerpiece selection of the 64th New York Film Festival on October 2.
Pascal portrays a former child prodigy cellist who flees a Chicago orchestra and a manic ex and returns to Los Angeles to record Hollywood scores and resolve unfinished family business.
Olivia Wilde also stars in a cast that includes Eva Victor, Alexa Swinton, Kaya Ralls, Erik Griffin, JoBeth Williams, and Margarita Levieva, with Hank Azaria and Will Arnett. Searchlight Pictures will release Behemoth! in the US on December 4.
Gilroy’s directing credits include Michael Clayton, Duplicity, and The Bourne Legacy. As a screenwriter he has written the first three Bourne films and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and worked on the Disney+ series Andor.
As previously announced, NYFF (September 25-October 12) will open with James Gray’s Paper Tiger and close with the world premiere of Ana DuVernay’s documentary 14th.
