The world premiere of Paolo Genovese’s Il Rumore Delle Cose Nuove will open the 21st edition of the Rome Film Fest, taking place from October 14-25 in the Italian capital.
Il Rumore Delle Cose Nuove follows three separate couples whose lives become intertwined by an unexpected event.
It is produced by Lotus Production with Rai Cinema in collaboration with Disney+ and in association with Verve Pictures. 01 Distribution is releasing the title in Italy in November. Rai Cinema handles international sales.
Genovese’s previous credits include Follemente, which was Italy’s highest-grossing film in 2025.
Last year’s festival opened with Riccardo Milani’s La Vita Va Così with the top prize for best film eventually going to Shih-Ching Tsou’s Left-Handed Girl.
