Seth Rogen has been spotted on the Lido attending Venice Film Festival this week, researching season two of Apple TV+’s The Studio.
Series co-creator and co-writer Rogen has attended several film premieres, where he has been seen taking photos and videos of the celebratory applause at the end of screenings.
He has also been conducting research at parties, including an event last night (Monday, September 1) at Palazzo Franchetti for A24’s Competition title The Smashing Machine, where he spoke with director Benny Safdie and star Dwayne Johnson, as well as many industry guests.
Rogen has also spent time in the press room at the Palazzo del Cinema where several hundred journalists from international film outlets are working.
He confirmed his attendance was for The Studio purposes to Italian website Adnkronos.
The series follows a legacy Hollywood studio trying to survive in a world where it is increasingly difficult for art and business to live together.
Produced by Lionsgate, the first season of The Studio was released on Apple TV+ in March this year. It received 23 Emmy nominations, including for outstanding comedy series, writing and directing, as well as for its broad cast – several of whom are playing fictionalised versions of themselves.
Screen has contacted Rogen’s representatives for comment.
Venice continues until Saturday, September 6.
