‘Fast And Feel Love’

Major Thai production and sales outfit GDH 559 returns to Filmart Online with two new titles: romantic comedy drama Fast And Feel Love and TV drama series spin-off Love Destiny The Movie.

Presented at the virtual Hong Kong market for the first time, Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit’s Fast And Feel Love centres on a world champion of sport stacking who, when dumped by his long-time girlfriend, has to learn basic adult skills to take care of himself.

The film stars Nat Kitcharit (4 Kings), Urassaya Sperbund (Brother Of The Year) and Prim Patnasiri (TV’s Malee). The Thai release is set for April 6. Nawapol previously directed Happy Old Year and Die Tomorrow.

Adisorn Tresirikasem’s Love Destiny The Movie marks the follow-up to the hit Thai drama series of the same name. Ranee Campen and Thanavat Vatthanaputi reprise their roles as their characters reincarnate and meet again in the 16th century colonial era. Adisorn’s previous directing credits include Bangkok Traffic (Love) Story.

GDH’s return to Filmart follows an eventful year for the Bangkok-based outfit.

When cinemas begin to close in May, due to the pandemic, GDH premiered supernational thriller Ghost Lab worldwide on Netflix and pushed back the theatrical release of Banjong Pisanthanakun’s horror The Medium until cinemas reopened following a five-month closure. The delay paid off as the Thai-Korean feature, produced by The Wailing director Na Hong-jin, earned $3.4m (112m baht) at the Thai box office.

Last month, GDH distributed Nattawut Poonpiriya’s drama One For The Road, which was produced by Hong Kong auteur Wong Kai Wai and premiered at Sundance in 2021. The film took an estimated $2.4m (80m baht) in Thailand. It marks Nattawut’s follow-up to Bad Genius, produced by GDH, which proved a significant international success after its release in 2017.

GDH appointed Songpol ‘Hutt’ Wongkondee in December as director of sales and international business. Formerly of M Pictures, the executive has two decades of experience in film acquisition, distribution and production.
