Producers Guild of America (PGA) has announced its documentary feature nominees, with prison exposé The Alabama Solution, the profile of investigative journalist Sy Hersh in Cover-Up, and the nature feature Ocean With David Attenborough in contention.
Rounding out the Outstanding Producer of Documentary Motion Pictures roster are The Perfect Neighbor, Mr. Nobody Against Putin, My Mom Jayne: A Film By Mariska Hargitay, and The Tale Of Silyan.
Each film is being vetted for individual producer eligibility. Productions released between January 1 and December 31 2025 were eligible for consideration, and the winner will be unveiled at the 37th Annual Producers Guild Awards on February 28, 2026.
The Guild also announced finallists for the PGA Innovation Award, recognising productions that demonstrate “exceptional achievement in documentary filmmaking, and significant accomplishments in the application of emerging technology”. The winner will be announced at a pre-awards ceremony reception in Los Angeles on February 26, 2026.
Productions released between October 1 2024 and October 1 2025 were eligible for consideration. The PGA Innovation Award is presented to the production as a whole, not to individual producers, and therefore producers are not subject to the PGA eligibility determination process.
