EXCLUSIVE: UK genre specialist Jinga Films has pivoted towards action films and away from horror, with the sales agent boarding two thrillers ahead of the European Film Market (EFM), No Way Back and Fast Cash.
Mongolian filmmaker Amarsaikhan Baljinnyam’s No Way Back is produced by Uran Sainbileg of IFI Production in Mongolia. Balljinnyam plays a criminal foot soldier who comes to the rescue when his gang are about to kill a mother and child.
Fast Cash is a crime thriller and the directorial debut of Panamanian cinematographer Jeico Castro Ferrari. It stars Andres Morales as a down-on-his-luck ex-convict who becomes a getaway driver in a dangerous bank heist. It is produced by Fariba Hawkins of Tiempo Real Inc in Panama.
Jinga CEO Julian Richards noted that since the Covid-19 pandemic, the market for horror has become “very competitive” but “less reliable”.
“Jinga is having great success with Sword Of Vengeance and we believe that No Way Back and Fast Cash have the chops to deliver on a similar level.”
