Special screenings at the Doha Tribeca Film Festival (DTFF) will incude Puss In Boots, Senna and The Raid.

The inaugural DTFF Arab Documentary Film Competition jury will be headed up by British documentary filmmaker Nick Broomfield. He will sit on the jury alongside Moroccan filmmaker Hakim Belabbes (In Pieces, Threads), and Istanbul Film Festival Director, Azize Tan.

Syrian director Mohammed Malas has joined the jury of the Arab Film Competition Jury for Narrative Films. The narrative jury will include actress Robin Wright, Lebanese actress Carmen Lebbos, Palme d’Or nominated Singaporean filmmaker Eric Khoo and Golden Bear-winning filmmaker Jasmila Zbanic.

DFI has also announced its Special Screenings Programme for the Festival, which includes David Fine’s documentary Salaam Dunk, Asif Kapadia’s Senna, Gareth Huw Evans’ action film The Raid and Nick Broomfield’s Sarah Palin - You Betcha!.

There will be a special 3D screening of Puss in Boots voiced by Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek and Zach Galifianakis as part of a family fun day. There will also be a tribute to Syrian director, Omar Amiralay with a screening of his socio-political documentary, Everyday Life in a Syrian Village.

The third “Doha Talks” event –a series of nine panels, masterclasses and in conversations - will take place from October 26-29, kicking off with a discussion around the festival’s opening film Black Gold. Participants taking part in the four day event will also include Antonio Banderas, film composer James, Luc Besson, Morgan Spurlock and Asif Kapadia.
